Cross-Sector Takeaway
The 2.25-point spread between Energy and Technology is around half again as large as the biggest move among the major averages, which are down between 0.57% and 1.53%. The major averages are lower, masking a session where leadership is concentrated in Energy, Consumer Staples and Health Care. Defensives are holding up better — Consumer Staples and Health Care rank second and third, while Real Estate ranks fourth — which gives the session a rotational look.
