The Company is an enterprise that provides its customers with solutions and products in a variety of markets, including portable communications, communications infrastructure, consumer electronics, mass transit, automotive, defense and clean technology. The Company manufactures specialty materials, which are grouped into reportable segments: High Performance Foams; Printed Circuit Materials; Power Electronics Solutions and Others. The High Performance Foams segment includes urethane foams and silicone materials that are sold principally to manufacturers in the portable communication device, communications infrastructure, mass transit and consumer markets; High Performance Foams are sold to fabricators, distributors and original equipment manufacturers for applications in consumer electronics, mass transit, defense and other markets. The Printed Circuit Materials segment includes circuit board laminates for high frequency printed circuits, which are sold principally to printed circuit board manufacturers and equipment manufacturers for applications in the computer, portable communication device, communications infrastructure, mass transit, defense, and consumer markets. Printed Circuit Materials are sold principally to independent and captive printed circuit board manufacturers who convert its laminates to custom printed circuits. The polymer-based dielectric layers of Rogers's rigid circuit board laminates are proprietary materials that provide specialized electrical and mechanical properties; The Power Electronics Solutions segment is comprised of direct bond copper (DBC) ceramic substrate products and RO-LINX power distribution products; The Other segment consists of elastomeric components for applications in ground transportation, office equipment, consumer and other markets; elastomeric floats for level sensing in fuel tanks, motors, and storage tanks; and inverters for portable communications and automotive markets. The Trade names for its rigid printed circuit board materials include RO3000, RO4000, RT/duroid, ULTRALAM, RO2800, LoPro, COOLSPAN and TMM. The Company's products are sold through direct sales channels positioned near concentrations of its customers throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
