Four American Banks In Global Financial Watchdog Hitlist, GS, JPM, MS, BAC
The Financial Stability Board, an international body of bankers and regulators, has drawn up a list of thirty top financial institutions which are to be the subject of cross border exercises by regulators.
The list is a part of an international effort to prevent a future financial crisis. The institutions featuring in the list will have to write ‘living wills’ specifying wind up plans in case of a crisis. The list that reads like a marquee list of global financial biggies includes four American banks: Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Bank of America-Merilll Lynch (NYSE: BAC). The only other North American bank included in the list is Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE: RY).
