Travelers Posts Upbeat Results, Joins Iridium Communications, Snap-on And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher

U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 100 points on Thursday.

Shares of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TRV) rose sharply during Thursday's session after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter results.

The Travelers Companies reported third-quarter revenue growth of 12% year-over-year to $11.904 billion, beating the consensus of $11.491 billion. Core income per share jumped 169% to $5.24, beating the $3.64 consensus estimate.

Travelers gained 6.9% to $259.63 on Thursday.

Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:IRDM) gained 16.2% to $35.09 after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter revenue results and raised its FY24 OEBITDA guidance.

SelectQuote, Inc. (NYSE:SLQT) shares gained 14.6% to $2.58 after the company announced it completed the first phase of recapitalization with $100 million securitization transaction.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:TSM) gained 12.6% to $211.14 following a third-quarter earnings beat and strong fourth-quarter guidance.
Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:FOLD) gained 11.1% to $11.67 after the company announced it entered into a license agreement with Teva and resolved its Galafold patent litigation.
Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE:WBS) climbed 8.5% to $52.76 following third-quarter results.
Cohen & Steers, Inc. (NYSE:CNS) gained 7.7% to $109.00 after UBS upgraded the stock from Sell to Neutral and raised its price target from $63 to $102.
