Argan Reports Strong Earnings, Joins Geron, Planet Labs PBC And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Friday

U.S. stocks were mixed, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 0.1% on Friday.

Shares of Argan, Inc. AGX rose sharply during Friday's session after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results.

Argan posted quarterly earnings of 58 cents per share, beating market estimates of 52 cents per share. The company's quarterly sales came in at $157.68 million versus expectations of $134.75 million, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Argan shares climbed 11.1% to $76.78 on Thursday.

  • Geron Corporation GERN shares climbed 26% to $4.90 as the company reported the FDA approval of RYTELO™ (imetelstat), a first-in-class telomerase inhibitor, for the treatment of adult patients with lower-risk MDS with transfusion-dependent anemia.
  • SunPower Corporation SPWR shares jumped 18.8% to $4.11.
  • Oddity Tech Ltd. ODD rose 18.3% to $43.49 after the company approved a share buyback and raised its Q2 guidance.
  • Yext, Inc. YEXT climbed 14.7% to $5.42. Yext is said to hire investment bankers to explore strategic alternatives, including a sale, Reuters reported.
  • Planet Labs PBC PL climbed 9.6% to $1.9950 following better-than-expected quarterly earnings.
  • Limoneira Company LMNR gained 9.4% to $22.27 as the company reported financial results for the second quarter ended April 30, 2024.
  • Esperion Therapeutics, Inc. ESPR gained 8.7% to $2.6850.
  • Waldencast plc WALD rose 8.6% to $4.77.
  • NWTN Inc. NWTN climbed 8.5% to $2.17.
  • Dave Inc. DAVE gained 7.8% to $39.57. B. Riley Securities analyst Hal Goetsch initiated coverage on Dave with a Buy rating and announced a price target of $60.
  • Mobileye Global Inc. MBLY rose 7.6% to $29.48.
  • Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd CRDO gained 7.2% to $27.72.
  • Braze, Inc. BRZE gained 4.2% to $38.32 following better-than-expected first-quarter earnings.
  • Carvana Co. CVNA rose 3.7% to $108.49.
