Analyst Sees Long-Term Growth
Analyst Peter Galbo said Coca-Cola’s quarterly performance reinforced confidence in both the company’s near- and long-term growth outlook, citing stronger sales, gross margins and operating margins than expected.
The analyst also raised fiscal 2026 earnings estimates to $3.30 per share from $3.27, with fiscal 2027 and 2028 EPS forecasts increasing to $3.60 and $3.85, respectively.
BofA said Coca-Cola continues to stand out among consumer staples companies due to its consistent volume-led growth and execution.
The brokerage increased its valuation multiple to 28 times expected 2027 earnings, reflecting confidence that the company can sustain its operational momentum.
Coca-Cola Demand Trends Support Sales Growth Outlook
Bank of America said Coca-Cola’s consumption trends remain “best in class.” The firm highlighted Coca-Cola’s 5% unit case volume growth in the second quarter, driven by favorable weather in Europe, World Cup-related demand and an easy comparison with the prior year.
It added that underlying demand remains robust across both North America and international markets, supporting a long-term path toward mid-single-digit organic sales growth.
Margin Expansion Remains A Key Catalyst
Looking ahead, BofA expects third-quarter organic sales to rise 3.8% year over year, driven by 2.2% unit case volume growth and 2.6% price/mix gains.
It also forecasts continued margin expansion, with gross margin increasing 50 basis points to 61.5% and operating margin rising 50 basis points to 32.4%.
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Refranchising And Cyber Incident In Focus
The brokerage noted that Coca-Cola’s planned refranchising of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa could provide an additional catalyst for structural operating margin expansion over the longer term.
It also said a recently disclosed cyber incident affecting portions of the company’s Fairlife operations is not expected to have a material financial impact.
