One of the stocks that look very promising is Par Pharmaceutical (NYSE: PRX) . Par Pharmaceutical reported. It rose 4.83% on the premarket. Par Pharmaceutical was able to beat analyst expectations when they reported actual earnings of 76 cents a share.

JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU) increase 3.95% in the premarket trading after reporting adjusted quarterly profits that beat analyst expectations. This is a promising sign since analysts believe that JDS Uniphase will be outperforming their industry behind a good projected EPS growth rate of 10%.
One stock that beat expectation but still fell in the Premarket was CoinStar Inc. Coinstar Inc fell 7.21% in the premarket despite beating analyst expectations.

CareFusion Corp. (NYSE: CFN) reported a decline in income compared to the previous year with earnings of 37 cents a share or $81 million. In the previous year, CareFusion posted profits of $113 million as earning from discontinued operations helped increase the earnings for that year. In after hours trading, CFN rose 0.25% to reach $24.05.

Leucadia National (NYSE: LUK) posted strong profits as their earning rose to $1.50 a share or $370.2 million. Leucadia National was neutral during the pre-market but it should rise behind the favorable earnings report.

Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) also rose in the premarket as it gained 3.96% behind positive earnings for the Fourth quarter. Starbucks saw their earning per share rise to $0.20 compared to 0.01% in the fourth quarter last year.
