Roblox Unveils Virtual Career Hub for Candidates to Explore Work Environment

Roblox Corp RBLX launched Roblox Career Center, helping early-career candidates dive into its immersive platform firsthand and get a feel of work culture by reimagining how people come together.

In the Roblox Career Center, players enter a virtual lobby headed by an avatar office manager. From there, they can lead to an interview room, butterfly dome, or podcast lounge to listen to conversations hosted by CEO Dave Baszucki and understand the company, Bloomberg reports.

On Thursday, after launch, players crowded Baszucki avatars inside the center — including one in a suit and another dressed as a Teen Titans character.

Roblox has recently beefed up its recruitment tools, including through its 2020 acquisition of cognitive assessment firm Imbellus. An avatar of an Imbellus scientist sits in the Career Center's rec room to prepare players for the Roblox interview process.

Like many gaming companies, Roblox faced flak for failing to foster a diverse work culture, including allegations of sexist and racist treatment from former and current employees.

This week, Roblox reported second-quarter FY23 Bookings growth of 22% year-on-year to $780.7 million.

The topline grew by 15% Y/Y to $680.8 million, missing the consensus of $784.9 million. EPS loss of $(0.46) missed the consensus loss of $(0.45).

Average Daily Active Users (DAUs) were 65.5 million, up 25% Y/Y. Hours Engaged were 14 billion, up 24% Y/Y.

Price Action: RBLX shares traded lower by 0.85% at $30.35 premarket on the last check Friday.
