Teledyne Secures $94M IDIQ Contract From US Army For Nano-Drones

Teledyne Technologies Inc’s TDY subsidiary Teledyne FLIR Defense won a five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract worth up to $93.9 million.

Under the contract, the company will provide its Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance Systems (PRS) to the U.S. Army.

The initial award covers delivery of the nano-unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and controllers, spare parts, and training.

The pocket-sized Black Hornet PRS transmits live video and HD still images back to the operator, it provides soldiers with immediate covert situational awareness to help them perform missions more safely and effectively.

FLIR Defense has delivered more than 20,000 Black Hornet PRS systems to military and security forces in over 40 countries.

“FLIR Defense will continue to invest in developing unmanned platforms and smart sensors that are proving their worthiness in operational theaters worldwide. These technologies are reshaping the modern battlefield,” commented Dr. JihFen Lei, executive vice president and general manager of FLIR Defense.

Price Action: TDY shares traded lower by 0.47% at $410.52 on the last check Monday.
