Poland Mourns Late President

Thousands have gathered to mourn at the funeral of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife, which is taking place in Krakow, Poland. The Polish President along with his wife and 94 others died in a plane crash in Russia last week.

U.S. President Barack Obama was unable to attend the funeral due to the disruptions in air travel caused by volcanic ash from Iceland. The Polish President and his wife will be buried in a sarcophagus in the royal crypt in Warwel cathedral, next to Josef Pilsudski, Poland’s respected independence leader.
