$1 Trillion In ETF Assets
ETFs, or exchange traded funds, have topped the trillion dollar mark according to a report from BlackRock (NYSE: BLK). The report asserts that worldwide ETF assets reached a peak of $1.032 trillion at the end of 2009 which represented a 45% increase on the year.
Global hedge fund assets for the third quarter topped out at about $1.53 trillion, but some analysts are projecting that ETFs will sooner or later eclipse this number. BlackRock (BLK) is the largest ETF firm after their purchase of iShares from Barclays PLC last year. For more information on ETFs visit Benzinga's ETF Guide.
