Tiger Woods' Mea Culpa
Tiger Woods held a press conference apologizing to his wife, family, sponsors and fans moments ago. The world's highest compensated athlete has been caught up in a whirlwind of controversy after his numerous infidelities became public. Woods said, "I was unfaithful, I had affairs, I cheated." Tiger has been in therapy for the last 45 days and will continue to receive treatment. He did not give a date for returning to golf, but said it could be later this year.
Woods has been dropped by a number of major sponsors such as AT&T, Accenture, and Gatorade in the wake of the scandal. During his statement, which lasted nearly 14 minutes, Woods said that he is "deeply sorry" for his "selfish and irresponsible behavior." He added that "I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. I was wrong. I was foolish. I don't get to play by different rules; the same rules that apply to everyone apply to me."
