Zelle is a digital payment network in the United States that allows users to send and receive money directly between bank accounts using an email address or mobile phone number. Launched in 2017, it is operated by Early Warning Services, a consortium owned by several major U.S. banks including Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo. Zelle is integrated into participating banks’ apps, enabling near-instant transfers without additional fees.
