Trump's Possible Return As President Spurs Ukrainians To Fortify Domestic Arms Industry Amid Russia War

In the face of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the potential return of Donald Trump to the White House, the citizens of Ukraine are taking defense matters into their own hands by fortifying their arms industry.

What Happened: Private enterprises and volunteers are increasingly working towards providing their troops with essential weaponry, Politico reported.

Even though Ukraine’s forces are dispersed over a 1,000-kilometer front, it added that every additional piece of equipment or drone could significantly contribute to life-saving efforts.

Why It Matters: Ukrainian-built armored vehicles and maritime drones have been deployed alongside U.S. Bradleys on the frontlines. However, Ukraine’s defense budget is significantly smaller than Russia’s, making foreign aid crucial for their fight.

Since February last year, Prytula’s foundation has gathered $135 million, financing the procurement of over 7,000 drones, 1,200 vehicles, and upwards of 17,000 communication devices.
