Tesla Starts Hiring Process For Cybertruck Production

Zinger Key Points
  • While $100 pre-orders are still open on Tesla's website, the final specs of the Cybertruck are still unclear.
  • Range, price and other important specs are still unknown.

The Tesla Inc TSLA Cybertruck was announced back in 2019 and has since seen many delays. Last month, it was revealed that the machinery needed to produce the Cybertruck was finally on its way to Tesla's newest factory, Gigafactory Texas

Now Electrek has shared that Tesla is taking the next step and has begun hiring employees specifically for Cybertruck production. Electrek found Tesla hiring for positions that specifically list Cybertruck manufacturing as the point of the role.

The listings include one position to lead Cybertruck production, and the five newer listings for Cybertruck body in white manufacturing, which is the step in production where the vehicle’s body is constructed.

While $100 pre-orders are still open on Tesla's website, the final specs of the Cybertruck are still unclear. Originally unveiled as a tri-motor solution, CEO Elon Musk later issued an update, saying the Cybertruck would be quad motor. Range, price and other important specs are still unknown, as the company has not provided any updates since delays were announced.

As of the latest updates, Tesla is still aiming for initial deliveries in mid-2023, with a ramp of production throughout the rest of that year.
