Microsoft May Have Reopened Talks with Salesforce

The Rumor:
Shares of Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) rose Thursday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a new offer coming from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT). "Sources" say Microsoft could bid $92 to $94 per share.

In May 2015, Salesforce rejected a $55 billion offer from Microsoft, according to reports. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff had sought $70 billion, sources said. A spokesperson for Salesforce declined comment to Benzinga on today's rumor.

Salesforce closed Thursday at $80.16, up 3%.

 

Hearing Ningbo Shanshan in Talks to Purchase Stake in SQM

The Rumor:
China's Ningbo Shanshan Co is said to be in advanced talks to acquire a stake in Chile's Sociedad Quimica Y Minera (NYSE: SQM), according to sources as reported by Reuters on Thursday. Ningbo Shanshan Co is a manufacturer of lithium battery materials.

SQM closed at $26.16 on Thursday, up 4.93%.

 

Littelfuse to Acquire Select Product Portfolio from ON Semiconductor for $104M

ON Semiconductor closed at $11.01 on Thursday, up 2.8%.
