Charles O’Neill is a senior manager of Emerging Partnerships at AmEx Digital Labs at American Express (NYSE:AXP).
Amex Digital Labs is an innovative division of AmEx formed in 2017. This division focuses on developing and testing new technologies and using them to incubate new products that make their way to the rest of the company. This team of 100 globally-scattered experts is responsible for about 20-25 pilot programs annually.
Before joining American Express, O’Neill worked at Octagon — a leading sports agency. He rose from trainee to the position of an account director within four years.
Alongside other Web3 trendsetters, O’Neill will speak at Benzinga’s Future of Digital Assets event. He will participate in a panel titled “Why Major Brands Are Going Web3?” with Alex Salnikov and Lawrence Hutson.
This panel has the potential to spark interesting discussions since popular brands and IPs are increasingly engaging with Web 3.

Solving the Privacy Concerns Through the Blockchain
O’Neill’s take on the topic will be valuable due to his experience with crypto and Web 3. He’s been working with Proof of attendance protocol (POAP) — an Ethereum-based protocol dedicated to helping developers create digital impressions forever preserved on the blockchain.
By partnering with POAP, AmEx users can claim NFTs minted directly to their approved Web3 wallets or save them to email to reserve for a later date.
