  • Tony Todd (Venom's voice) disclosed scrapped scenes at Fan Expo 2023, hinting at potential DLC.

Sony Group Corp.'s SONY PlayStation exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man 2, released on Oct. 20, reportedly underwent significant content cuts before its launch, particularly related to the character Venom.

This information surfaced from a panel at Fan Expo 2023, featuring voice actors from the game, where Tony Todd, the voice of Venom, disclosed that substantial Venom-related scenes were axed from the final release, according to gaming YouTuber Evan Filarca.

This included recordings of scrapped sequences involving Miles Morales and the symbiote.

Despite the symbiote's apparent elimination in the game's ending, hints suggest that Venom-related storylines might resurface in the future, possibly in the form of DLC or in subsequent sequels.

Filarca also revealed that Todd told him that only a small fraction, about 10%, of his recorded dialogue as Venom was utilized in the released game.

This revelation is surprising given the substantial presence of Venom in the game, particularly towards the end.

The success of Spider-Man 2 has been notable, becoming the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game on PS5.

Meanwhile, the development team continues to engage with the game's community, addressing issues and bugs post-launch.
