In the 2023 season, Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, was instrumental in the team’s achievement of winning the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.
Now, he may have his eyes set on a new part-time career alongside his NFL stardom.
What Happened: Kelce was already well known in the NFL world, but gained a new legion of fans during the 2023 season thanks to a romantic relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift.
The Chiefs star saw his brand rise and he could see even more attention with a shift to the entertainment sector.
Kelce is in talks to become the host of a reboot of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" according to a report from Variety. The reboot would be celebrity focused and stream on Amazon Prime Video, the streaming platform owned by Amazon.com Inc AMZN.
Launched in 2007, the game show, which sees contestants answer questions from first grade to fifth grade and can get the help of schoolchildren, previously had Jeff Foxworthy as the original host. The original series aired for four seasons on Fox.
A rebooted version of the show aired for one season in 2019 with John Cena as the host.

Why It's Important: The report of Kelce's interest comes as the NFL star increasingly ventures into the entertainment industry. Kelce has said he would like to further explore the entertainment sector after enjoying his appearances on "Saturday Night Live."
Kelce also was previously on the reality series "Catching Kelce."
The Chiefs star is also an executive producer on an upcoming movie, and co-hosts a podcast, “New Heights” with his brother Jason Kelce.
A major topic likely to arise in discussions is the extent of the time commitment required for the game show and how it fits into Kelce’s schedule. Balancing a full NFL career, his podcast, a relationship, and coordinating schedules with Swift may leave Kelce stretched thin for time.
Given Kelce’s popularity and the name brand awareness of the show, Amazon could end up with a hit. The streaming platform appears to be branching more into the reality and gaming space. The platform recently signed content creator MrBeast for a reality game competition.
