The FDA approval is based on strong results from the late-stage NATALEE trial. The results showed a significant and clinically meaningful 25.1% reduction in risk of disease recurrence in a broad population of patients with HR+/HER2- stage II and III EBC treated with adjuvant Kisqali plus endocrine therapy&nbsp;compared to ET alone, including those with high-risk N0 disease.
The invasive disease-free survival benefit was consistently observed across all patient subgroups.
Please note that Kisqali is already approved for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer (MBC) in several countries.
The latest FDA approval of Kisqali for this early breast cancer population, including those with N0 disease, should enable NVS to offer treatment with a CDK4/6 inhibitor to a significantly broader group of patients.

Friday, the FDA approved Eli Lilly And Co&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>) Ebglyss (lebrikizumab-lbkz), a targeted IL-13 inhibitor, for adults and children 12 years of age and older who weigh at least 88 pounds (40 kg) with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) that is not well controlled despite treatment with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/09/n40861537/fda-approves-lillys-ebglyss-lebrikizumab-lbkz-for-adults-and-children-12-years-and-older-with-mode" rel="noreferrer noopener">topical prescription therapies</a>.
Ebglyss works by targeting eczema inflammation throughout the body that can lead to dry, itchy, and irritated skin.
Ebglyss, 250 mg/2 mL injection, can be used with or without topical corticosteroids and is dosed as a monthly maintenance injection following the initial phase of treatment.

In an average of two studies (ADvocate 1 and 2), 38% of people who took Ebglyss achieved clear or almost clear skin at 16 weeks (versus 12% with placebo), and 10% saw these results as early as four weeks.
Of those who experienced clear or almost-clear skin at Week 16, 77% maintained those results at one year with once-monthly dosing. 48% of responders switched from Ebglyss to placebo at Week 16, maintained these results at one year.
Similarly, in both studies, many people experienced itch relief with Ebglyss.
On average, 43% of people who took Ebglyss felt itch relief at 16 weeks (compared to 12% who took a placebo), and 5% felt relief as early as two weeks.
Of the people who felt itch relief at Week 16, 85% still felt that relief at one year of treatment with monthly maintenance dosing. Sixty-six percent of responders switched from Ebglyss to placebo at Week 16 maintained these results at one year.

Earlier today, Novo Nordisk&nbsp;announced that its weight-loss drug liraglutide is safe and effective for children <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/09/40809053/novo-nordisk-reports-positive-results-of-weight-loss-drug-liraglutide-for-children-as-young-as-6" rel="noreferrer noopener">as young as six</a>.
The company-funded study revealed a 7.4% reduction in body mass index for children aged 6 to 12 who used the injectable pens over a year compared to a placebo group.
Amycretin is a novel protein-based unimolecular amylin (regulates hunger) and GLP-1 receptor co-agonist for once-daily oral administration.
GLP-1 (produced in the small intestine to regulate blood sugar) is the same hormone targeted by other weight loss drugs like Novo Nordisk&#8217;s Wegovy (semaglutide) and Eli Lilly And Co&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>) Zepbound (tirzepatide).
In a single-center, placebo-controlled, double-blinded <a target="_blank" href="https://www.easd.org/media-centre/home.html#!resources/b-safety-tolerability-and-weight-reduction-findings-of-oral-amycretin-a-novel-amylin-and-glucagon-like-peptide-1-receptor-co-agonist-in-a-first-in-human-study-b-70062cca-bdca-47a3-a603-124d45236f6f" rel="noreferrer noopener">study</a>, adult participants with a BMI of 25.0-39.9 kg/m2 without diabetes were randomized to receive amycretin or a placebo once a day for up to 12 weeks.
In the first-in-human trial, a 50-mg dose of the daily pill of amycretin, led to 10.4% weight loss at about three months after the start of treatment.
Participants who took two 50-mg pills daily lost 13.1% of their weight compared to 1.1% in the placebo group for both doses.
According to Novo Nordisk, the drug is safe, with side effects in line with those of Ozempic and Wegovy.
Most adverse events reported were mild to moderate in severity and related to gastrointestinal discomfort (e.g., nausea, vomiting), and decreased appetite.
In a similar&nbsp;trial, participants who were taking Wegovy showed a weight loss of&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2796491" rel="noreferrer noopener">5.9%</a> after 12 weeks.
Wegovy&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.wegovy.com/about-wegovy/why-wegovy.html" rel="noreferrer noopener">showed</a> an overall weight loss of 15% after two years of treatment vs. 2.6% (~6 lb) for adults taking a placebo.
At the end of the treatment period, participants taking amycretin did not reach a plateau in weight loss, indicating the potential for further weight loss with extended use.
The study&#8217;s authors conclude that daily oral amycretin treatment in adults who are overweight or obese and without diabetes demonstrated a safe and tolerable profile in line with the drug receptor classes and with notable reductions in body weight.
&#8220;A single molecule that targets both amylin and GLP-1 biology in a tablet form could offer a more convenient approach to achieving better outcomes for individuals with overweight or obesity,&#8221; researchers <a target="_blank" href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/ozempic-maker-touts-remarkable-more-220100220.html" rel="noreferrer noopener">said</a> before presenting the findings.

Ozempic Maker Novo Nordisk Touts Encouraging Data From New Obesity Pill Showing Double Weight Loss Compared To Wegovy

Novo Nordisk (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVO#NYSE">NVO</a>) has announced that its weight-loss drug liraglutide is safe and effective for children as young as six. The company-funded study revealed a 7.4% reduction in body-mass index for children aged 6 to 12 using the injectable pens over a year compared to a placebo group.
What Happened: The study, involving 82 children, indicates liraglutide could become the first obesity treatment available for this age group. Martin Holst Lange, Novo Nordisk's head of development, stated the company will seek regulatory approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency, <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/83bfafb7-72a4-455f-8def-0caa959def3d">reported</a> the Financial Times.
"One in five children have obesity and one of the biggest predictors for adult obesity is childhood obesity so having this potential intervention for that age group is important," Lange said, according to the report. 
Currently, no pharmaceutical treatments for general obesity in under-12s exist, according to Claudia Fox from the University of Minnesota Medical School, who led the study. Novo Nordisk is also testing semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy, for young children, which is already approved for over-12s.
Despite promising results, side effects such as nausea and vomiting were noted, and weight was quickly regained after stopping the drug. However, there were no differences in growth, bone age, or puberty issues between the control group and those on liraglutide, Fox added.
