The 97th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of several events taking place on television on the Thanksgiving Day holiday, which will see the U.S. stock markets closed.

Here's a look at what's new for the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and some of the companies featured in the annual event.

How to Watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: The 97th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast from 8:30 a.m. ET to 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 23. The parade will be rebroadcast from 2 p.m. ET to 5:30 p.m. ET.

NBC will broadcast and rebroadcast the parade. The show can also be streamed on Peacock— both units of Comcast Corporation CMCSA.

NBC has been a partner for the parade from Macy's Inc M for over 70 years.

The 2023 parade adds 30 minutes to the event.

Featured in this year's parade will be 26 floats, 16 character balloons, 32 heritage and novelty balloons and performances from musical acts, marching bands and Broadway shows.

Companies Featured: Here's a look at some of the companies featured in the parade, both of new and classic.

Along with airing the parade, Comcast will highlight several of its entertainment properties. The company has a balloon of Uncle Dan from the upcoming movie "Migration," which hits theaters on Dec. 22. Comcast also has the Birds of a Feather Stream Together float, which highlights its Peacock streaming service. The float will feature a live feed of the parade route with big screens. Po from the Kung Fu Panda movie franchise and Stuart from the Minions franchise will both be featured, giving Comcast plenty of action in the parade.

Paramount Global PARAPARAA will have the Good Burger Mobile in the parade, which highlights its "Good Burger 2" movie that was released on its Paramount+ streaming platform on Nov. 22. Paramount also has the Mutant Mayhem float that highlights the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the 2023 movie that shares a name with the float.

Warner Bros. Discovery WBD has a float called The Deliciously Delectable World of Wonka that will highlight the upcoming "Wonka" film set for theaters on Dec. 15.

Outdoor cooking company Solo Stove, which is a unit of Solo Brands DTC has a float called Igniting Memories, which highlights how the Solo Stove Bonfire smokeless fire pit can inspire family memories. The float comes after the company recently launched an advertising campaign with Snoop Dogg.

The recently released Netflix Inc NFLX film "Leo" sees the title 74-year old lizard from the animated series get his first balloon. At 73 feet long, the Leo balloon is the longest in this year's parade. Netflix could also benefit from the new Monkey D. Luffy balloon, which comes from the "One Piece" animated series. Netflix has a live-action series of the popular anime franchise on the streaming platform.

A new balloon from the Peanuts franchise will highlight the Beagle Scout Snoopy character. Peanuts will also have a Camp Snoopy Float, which promotes a new "Camp Snoopy" series coming to the AppleTV+ streaming platform from Apple Inc AAPL in 2024.

Restaurant company McDonald's Corp MCD will be featured with a Ronald McDonald balloon and will also have a float with this year's Big Red Show Car. The float will feature Ronald McDonald, Hamburglar and Grimace, who gained popularity in 2023 thanks to a limited time shake from the company and a viral TikTok trend.

Cool Cats NFT Balloon: The 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade marks the first time a digital collectible brand will be featured. A contest that allowed fans to vote on the first-ever NFT parade balloon saw Cool Cats come out victorious. The famous Blue Cat and his best friend Chugs characters will be featured in the parade, making their debut.

Cool Cats was one of several NFT collections that minted in 2021 and remains one of the most well-known brands in the space today.

"Personally, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been an important event in my family and it holds a lot of memories," Cool Cats Creator and co-founder Clon said. "Being able to showcase my artwork alongside some of the world's most recognizable characters is a dream come true."

To celebrate Cool Cats inclusion in this year's parade, a limited-time plush of Blue Cat and vinyl collectible are being sold in 11 Macy's flagship stores and online. A limited-time hoodie available exclusively at the Macy's Herald Square location will also celebrate the brand's inclusion in the parade. The merchandise items come with digital activation features.
