Larry Kudlow To Donald Trump: Get Your Act Together

CNBC's Larry Kudlow, an informal adviser to
President Donald Trump,
thinks now more than ever the White House needs to get its "act together" or risk getting "creamed" in the 2018 midterm elections.

Now that the debacle surrounding former FBI Director James Comey is arguably over, it's time for Trump and the White House to "go back to work on returning the country to prosperity," Kudlow wrote in an op-ed. After all, Trump's campaign was built on a promise to restore long-lasting, deep-rooted prosperity for Americans.

Game Plan

If Trump's administration fails, the entire Republican party is in great jeopardy, he continued. As such, some form of healthcare and tax reform needs to be accomplished this year with tangible results needed in the next few months.

As an informal adviser to Trump's administration, Kudlow is recommending a three-prong game plan:

    1. Lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 15 percent.
    2. Grant immediate expensing for new business investments.
    3. Establish a special one-time, 10-percent tax rate for the repatriation of cash held offshore.

"It's a simple tonic that will restore capital formation, productivity, real wages, and economic growth," Kudlow wrote. "And in terms of political expediency, it's practical. It's about getting done what you can get done.

These three items are what is needed to put America "back on the prosperity path" and the Republicans have one more chance to get back to work.
