Humble & Fume Names New CEO

Humble & Fume Inc. HMBL HUMBF has named chairman of the board Jakob Ripshtein to be its new CEO. He replaces Joel Toguri, who is stepping down to pursue other career opportunities.

Ripshtein brings over thirty years of experience leading corporate strategy, marketing, and sales and a deep understanding of the cannabis industry.

He previously served as the president of Aphria Inc., which Tilray Brands Inc TLRY acquired. Before that, he was president of Diageo Canada, overseeing significant growth, which led to him being named CFO of North America.

"We are very fortunate to have Jakob Ripshtein step in and assume the role of CEO," Board Member Shawn Dym said. "He is a proven leader with deep expertise in developing a high-performance culture and delivering results."

Trulieve Announces Change In Leadership Team

Trulieve Cannabis Corp. TRUL TCNNF announced on Friday that Rebecca L. Young, the company's vice president and chief accounting officer of the company, gave notice of her resignation to be effective as of March 10, 2023, in order to pursue other opportunities.

Joy Malivuk agreed to replace Young. Prior to joining the Tallahassee-based company, Malivuk spent nearly 15 years at HSN, Inc., a subsidiary of QVC, Inc.

Canadian Cannabis Retailer Fire & Flower Names CFO

Fire & Flower Holdings Corp. FAF FFLWF appointed John Chou to oversee its finance department. The move follows Chou's appointment as interim CFO in November.

Prior to joining Fire & Flower management, he held the position of CFO of The Flowr Corporation FLWPF (TSX.V:FLWR) and Terrace Global Inc, as well as vice president of finance of Gran Colombia Gold Corp. and Frontera Energy Corp.

"During Mr. Chou's work as interim Chief Financial Officer, he has contributed towards growing the strategic objectives of the business and has built strong relationships with our key team members and our Board of Directors," Stéphane Trudel, the company's CEO said.

WA Liquor and Cannabis Board Director To Retire

Head of Washington state Liquor and Cannabis Board Rick Garza said he will retire as director effective July 1, after 25 years of working for the agency, reported Marijuana Business Daily.

"Over the years, we've successfully addressed major challenges, including … creation of a regulatory system to allow adult-use cannabis that has been a model for the nation," Garza said in a statement.

TILT To Serve On NCR Board

TILT Holdings's TILT TLLTF CEO Gary Santo has been appointed to the board of directors of the National Cannabis Roundtable, the Phoenix-based company said on Thursday.

NCR is a non-partisan alliance of cannabis companies and ancillary services and solutions providers working to advance cannabis policy in the United States.

"The National Cannabis Roundtable has been and continues to be at the forefront of federal cannabis policy," Santo said. "TILT will fully support NCR's legislative priorities around decriminalizing cannabis, maintaining business continuity, ensuring consumer and worker safety, promoting social equity, and remediating harms from prohibition."

cbdMD, Inc. YCBD YCBDPA tapped Shannon Charles to serve as its new CMO.

Charles brings vast experience in health and wellness, having spent over a decade in the natural product industry.

Her leadership has supported many successful brands including Naturade, NeoCell and NutraNext. The Clorox Co ultimately acquired the latter during her tenure.
