Trump Slams Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: 'Great For MAGA' But 'Most Radical Left Candidate In The Race' Because Of Pro Environmental Policies

Former President Donald Trump’s latest statement on Truth Social criticizes independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.), labeling him as “the most radical left candidate in the race” because of his environmental stances, which Trump calls the “green new scam,” and positions on other policies he views as detrimental to the economy. 

Trump asserts that Kennedy’s candidacy could divert votes from President Joe Biden, framing this as beneficial for America. He also comments on Kennedy’s choice of running mate Nicole Shanahan, describing her as more “liberal” than Kennedy. Trump’s portrayal of Kennedy as a “radical left democrat” and the anticipation of legal challenges against him and Shanahan, hints at Trump’s strategy to position himself in the upcoming election. This move suggests Trump is aiming to polarize the election further, capitalizing on potential divisions in the Democratic vote base.

This comes when Biden's health has been a top concern among voters, giving alternatives a substantial and unprecedented boost in the polls. According to CNBC, 76% of voters are concerned about Biden's age and wellness. 

In a recent Harris Poll by American Political Studies (CAPS) at Harvard University, RFK Jr. currently has the highest net favorability among political figures in the U.S. The same poll showed that in a race between Trump, Biden and RFK Jr., RFK Jr. would take 17% of votes. 

Shanahan, identified as Kennedy’s running mate, is a Northern California environmental lawyer with a significant background in the legal and technology fields. She was previously married to Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin and has been active in environmental causes. Shanahan’s connection to Kennedy was highlighted through her substantial contribution to a Super Bowl commercial for Kennedy, demonstrating her alignment with his political and environmental views​.
