What's Going On With Apple Stock?

Apple Inc AAPL shares are trading higher Monday. The company announced that its Vision Pro headset will be released in less than a month.

What To Know: Apple announced on Monday that pre-orders for Apple Vision Pro will start Jan. 19 and the new headset will be available at all U.S. Apple stores beginning on Feb. 2.

"The era of spatial computing has arrived. Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore," said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.

Apple unveiled the highly anticipated Vision Pro headset last June following years of development. The device is designed to deliver extraordinary compute performance in a compact wearable form and marks Apple's entry into the AR/VR space. 

Apple said Vision Pro will be available starting at $3,499. Readers will be available for $99 and prescription optical inserts will be available for $149. 

What Else: Other top stories for Apple this week include an iPhone that fell 16,000 feet from a plane in the sky and remained intact and new data out of China showing slowing sales to start 2024. 

iPhone sales in China fell about 30% in the first week of 2024, according to a Reuters report citing a new note from Jefferies. The report also indicates that iPhone sales in China were down about 3% for 2023, driven by increased competition from China-based rivals including Huawei.
