Linda Yaccarino Unveils X Spaces' Remarkable Milestone – Users Now Eager For Spotify-Like Features

Spaces, the live audio conversations on Elon Musk‘s X (formerly Twitter), have already occurred 28 million times this year. Now, users are inquiring whether it can emulate what Spotify Inc. SPOT does for podcasts on its platform.

What Happened: X CEO Linda Yaccarino shared this information, also revealing that the company has been preparing a lineup of Spaces “to kick off the New Year.”

In the comment section, while some users started asking to get on that “lineup,” one user asked if there was a way to search and listen to “historical spaces,” somewhat like how one can listen to podcasts on Spotify.

Users also shared their grievances. One person said, “There are still problems in spaces where some people can’t hear each other.” Another person commented, “Still some technical glitches, but it was very interesting to see both the volume of peeps and who was listening in there.”

For the unversed, Twitter Spaces, now called X Spaces, were first introduced in 2020 in an effort to rival Clubhouse

Why It’s Important: Earlier this year, Musk, the owner of X, hosted a two-hour conversation on X Spaces with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, a presidential candidate and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also used X Spaces to announce his 2024 U.S. presidential election bid formally.
