Nio Opens Its High-Tech Manufacturing Center To Visitors

Chinese EV maker Nio Inc NIO opened its F2 manufacturing center at Neopark in Hefei, China to the public, starting Friday.

What Happened: “NIO F2 is not only the birthplace of high-quality smart electric vehicles, but also a fully digitalized smart factory covering the entire value chain, setting a world-class benchmark in the automotive industry,” the company said in a note.

Nio offers over 3.5 million different possible configurations across eight different models and delivers the vehicle within 21 days of order confirmation, thanks to the manufacturing system in place at the factory, the company said. The joining process at the center is fully automated and is enabled 756 robots, Nio added.

Nio opened its largest ‘Nio house‘ at Neopark about two months ago. The company describes these houses as "an open and pleasant place where Nio enthusiasts can share their interests and experience things together." The F2 brings together manufacturing with the largest Nio House, employee center and even a driving track.

How To Take A Tour: Interested customers must book 30 days in advance via the Nio App. Each ticket is priced at 500 Nio credits or 50 yuan (approx. $6.8) and the plant will be open to visitors on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, CnEVPost reported.
