Musk-Zuckerberg Rivalry Takes Another Turn, Now Threads Tries To Turn The Tables Against X

In the latest development related to the Elon MuskMark Zuckerberg rivalry, Meta Platforms Inc.’s META Threads has attempted to turn the tables against X, formerly Twitter, as users notice a subtle change in the app’s features.

What Happened: Last month, Threads users were excited when Chris Messina, the innovator often credited with introducing hashtags to the social media landscape, revealed an intriguing feature.

The feature allowed users to send a Threads post to X using a paper airplane icon.

At the time, it was speculated that Threads intended to capitalize on the larger audience of X to attract more users to the platform.

However, this potential game-changer seems to have hit a roadblock.

On Thursday, users noticed that the option to share posts directly on X has mysteriously disappeared.

Social media commentator Matt Navarra didn’t let this development slip under his radar, labeling it a “Twitter burn.”

Why It’s Important: While it remains unclear whether this maneuver will have a lasting impact on the Musk-Zuckerberg rivalry, one thing is sure: Threads has thrown down the gauntlet in an attempt to reshape the social media game.

It is pertinent to note that Threads became the fastest-growing consumer application in history after just five days of its launch. However, the app has since witnessed a notable decline in daily active users and usage time.

Musk has also left no opportunity to mock Threads and Zuckerberg and accused the platform of committing a “cardinal sin.”

Meanwhile, the “cage match” fiasco between Musk and Zuckerberg, which started in June earlier this year and intensified when the latter rolled out Threads, a new social media platform dubbed “Twitter killer,” has reached an impasse

While Zuckerberg wants to “move on” and does not intend to give more hype to this already much-talked-about match, Musk doesn’t seem to be getting the hint
