Biden's Re-Election Bid Faces Voters' Worries: 'A Big Part Is Just Pure Ageism'

As President Joe Biden accelerates his re-election campaign, concerns about his age and vitality persist among the party members and voters, the New York Times reported.

While Biden’s campaign and allies believe this intraparty dissent about Biden’s ability to run for a second term will dissipate next year, their assurances have not reduced worries among some top Democratic strategists and party voters.

Polls have indicated a lack of enthusiasm for Biden which can lead to a low Democratic turnout in 2024.

However, Democratic National Committee member William Owen said he was confused by these surveys.

"I'm looking at all the polling, and I'm amazed that it has so little to do with reality. A big part of it is just pure ageism. The American people are prejudiced against old people,” he said.
