Snap Snaps Up Google's Eric Young To Spearhead Ads Improvement

On June 5, 2023, Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) appointed Eric Young as Senior Vice President of Engineering.
Young, age 46, was previously employed at Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), serving in various roles, most recently as Vice President of Engineering at Google.
Before Google, Young served in multiple roles at Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN).
He will also lead efforts to improve Snap's ability to target and measure ads on Snapchat, which was made more difficult by privacy updates on Apple Inc's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS devices.

While Snap has consistently expanded its audience for Snapchat, which now has 750 million monthly users, the company has struggled to generate revenue simultaneously, Reuters reports.
In April, Snap shared plans to simplify how users interact with ads, which it said hurt results for some advertisers in the short term.
Before the appointment, Snap hired Rob Wilk, former head of advertising at Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT), to become president of the Americas region, and another Google executive to lead revenue product.
Price Action: SNAP shares traded lower by 0.29% at $10.48 premarket on the last check Tuesday.
