Amidst a wave of executive changesElon Musk‘s Twitter welcomes another former executive from Comcast Corporation’s CMCSA NBCUniversal to its ranks.

What Happened: Former NBCUniversal executive Joe Benarroch has officially joined Twitter, marking a significant move for the social media platform’s business operations.

Benarroch, known for his expertise in communication strategy and partnerships during his tenure at NBCUniversal, expressed his excitement about working with the microblogging site’s team to “build Twitter 2.0 together,” according to Reuters.

His role will focus on enhancing and streamlining the company’s business operations.

Linda Yaccarinowho was roped in as Twitter’s chief executive from NBCUniversal in May, extended a warm welcome to Benarroch via a tweet.

However, she did not mention the specific role Benarroch would be taking up within the company.

Benarroch responded with enthusiasm, saying he looked forward to building “Twitter 2.0.”

Why It’s Important: Benarroch’s arrival comes at a time when Twitter has witnessed the departure of several key executives.

Prior to his NBCUniversal stint, Benarroch was a communications director at Facebook (now Meta) for small and medium businesses and international advertisements, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Just last week, Ella Irwin, the head of trust and safety, announced her resignation from the social media giant.

Speculations were made about whether she was fired or quit and the tech billionaire was blamed for her departure, considering Irwin stepped down from her position as the platform’s head of trust and safety after just seven months.

However, Irwin later dismissed the rumors reiterating that she had resigned.

Additionally, AJ Brown, the head of brand safety and ad quality, recently decided to leave Twitter, the report noted.
