Rogers Communication Earmarks C$10B In AI, Oversight Following Outage - Rogers Communications (NYSE:RCI)

Rogers Communication, Inc RCI looks to invest C$10 billion ($7.74 billion) over the next three years in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and more testing and oversight.
Earlier this month, Rogers suffered a glitch disrupting services from flights to banking and emergency 911 calls.
The update came weeks after Rogers' network issues caused widespread disruptions across the country.
The Canadian government has also ordered a probe and demanded telecom companies agree within 60 days to develop communication protocols, Reuters reports.
EO Tony Staffieri acknowledged progress on a formal agreement between carriers to automatically switch 911 calls to each other's networks, even for an outage on any carrier's network.
He disclosed physically separating wireless and internet services to create an 'always on' network.
