Virgin Galactic SPCE is planning two simulations of "glide and approach-to-land phase" using the VMS Eve mothership Thursday and Friday, the company announced on Twitter.
VMS Eve will simulate this phase in place of SpaceShipTwo Unity departing Spaceport America, New Mexico.
The pilots for Thursday's flight are CJ Sturckow and Dave Mackay.
Why It Matters: Last month, Virgin Galactic's first test flight of SpaceShipTwo failed when it was a little more than 9 miles off the ground and the mission was aborted.
This disappointed investors, sending the share price lower.
The company later updated investors that it was a loss of computer signal that caused the malfunction.
SPCE Price Action: Shares in Virgin Galactic ended Thursday's session 3.81% higher at $33.27.
