Today's Political Twitter Beef Brought To You By Mark Cuban

Twitter Inc TWTR and controversy are almost synonyms. In Thursday’s edition of "The Daily Beef" — not be confused with "The Daily Beast" — businessman and investor Mark Cuban is the star.

It is no news that Cuban dislikes Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. "When it’s all said and done, I’d rather lose every penny than have Trump as president because I care more about the future of my family, my children than I do about my pocketbook," he said in a recent NBC Sports Radio (Comcast Corporation CMCSA) interview.

On Thursday, the billionaire took on Twitter to get under Trump’s skin yet again — something he declared he enjoys. The feud started when Cuban tweeted a CNN article titled “Battle over tweets in Trump University case” accompanied by the following text: “Trump speech ‘carries an immediate and irreparable danger of extreme and irremediable prejudice…’ lol.”

Cuban Vs. Matusow

Just a few minutes later, four-time World Series of Poker champion and anti-Clinton activist Mike Matusow, who boasts 106,000 followers, answered: “stick to issues this is a small lawsuit!! What is the evil witch gonna do that isnt illegal to make country better?”

Probably close to a stroke from all the grammatical errors in Matusow’s hardly understandable tweet, Cuban responded: “Ripping off 6k, that's SIX THOUSAND hard working Americans of millions is not small. Only a crook like DT sues the people he rips off.” He then rapidly added: “You can't find 10 people that Trump made money for. There are more than 10k he ripped off ((trump u + unpaid vendors) > 10k).”

Cuban Vs. Other ‘Trumpeters’

But the beef between Cuban and Trump supporters did not end there, of course. In fact, the investor decided to answer some other tweets and replies among the hundreds he got.

User @Trumpetwims sent out a message worthy of Kimmel’s "Mean Tweets" segment, which has been deemed too rude and inappropriate for re-publication.

Taking the insults lightly, the businessman replied, “I love it when I can convince a Trump follower to show me affection. I'm still all tingly inside. #CaringIsSharing.”

User @KennyPolcari, NYSE Institutional Broker and CNBC Market Analyst, was next: “Hey! It's easy to be pompous when you have all that $.To say you would rather live in poverty than have Trump as Pres is ARROGANT.”

Getting more serious, Cuban countered: “She is smart. He isnt. She is pragmatic. He isnt. She understands policy. He doesn't.She knows what to say. He has to be told (…) He mumbles to himself to stick to script. She knows. He gets corrected on ACA.She knows. He guesses on Foreign Policy. She Knows.”

In a last back-and-forth, Polcari said: “It's not that I don't think she is qualified - I am not a buyer of her massive TAX, SPEND & REGULATE POLICIES. Choking the life...”

Cuban: “. @KennyPolcari then support and vote for the qualified candidate and lobby against the things you don't like so they don't pass. #democracy.”

Cuban vs. Pete Najarian

Finally, there’s Pete Najarian – 133,000 followers, another CNBC market analyst who engaged in a more informed discussion.

  • Najarian: “Mark, ACA is an unmitigated disaster. You're a biz guy, why shouldn't they have made insurance competitive instead?”
  • Cuban: “insurance companies had yrs notice. Why didn't they create an alternative ? Why didn't they make it cheaper? (…) in some states increases were less than Corp insurance. So ACA was far better (…)Millions are owed to the insurance companies and congress won't pay them. Big part of them pulling out (…) Plan of cross state comp doesnt take in to account states rights.Think states will let ins companies do anything.”
  • Najarian: “Could be @mcuban but most of us pay far more now. An easier step that would have addressed cost would have been competitive HC insurance.”
  • Cuban: “competition solves a lot of problems until the competitors don't want to compete. Then what do we do ?”
