General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) reportedly faces a setback as workers at its Flint assembly plant in Michigan, represented by the United Auto Workers (UAW), have narrowly voted against a proposed contract.
Workers at the automaker's other plants are expected to vote on the agreement in the coming weeks, the report noted.
This development occurs amidst the UAW's broader efforts to secure contracts for workers across Chrysler-owner Stellantis N.V. (NYSE:STLA), GM, and Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F) following recent strikes against the automakers.
The vote results in the Flint assembly plant, reportedly known for manufacturing the popular Silverado heavy-duty pickup truck, comes at a time when the prolonged strike led to tentative agreements between the automakers and the UAW in recent weeks.
Price Action: GM shares are trading lower by 0.54% at $26.50 on the last check Friday.
