Shell Resumes Maintenance Work At Norway's Nyhamna Gas Processing Plant: Report

Shell PLC SHEL has reportedly resumed maintenance at Norway's Nyhamna gas processing plant, which was postponed last week due to a problem with the facility's cooling systems.

The company had halted non-essential operations after discovering a gas formation with hydrogen when cleaning a water-based cooling system, Reuters reported.

Shell had taken measures to carry out maintenance works safely.

The outage has led to lower output from Norway and increased British and Dutch gas prices.

Commissioned in 2007, the Nyhamna plant was initially built as an onshore facility for processing and exporting gas from the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea. The export capacity is 84 million standard cubic meters of gas per day.

Price Action: SHEL shares are trading lower by 0.35% to $59.88 in the premarket session on the last check Friday.
