  • On Thursday, Tilray’s Redecan kicked off a new spring lineup of its latest genetics.
  • Later this spring, Redecan will debut its new Redees Hemp’d Taster Series and additional new flower.

Tilray Brands, Inc. TLRY TLRY continues to promote its cannabis vertical even though lately it has been ramping up its beer business vertical as a way to establish itself in the U.S. On Thursday, Canadian medical cannabis giant Redecan launched a new spring lineup.

The expansion of Redecan’s product portfolio includes the launch of its latest genetics featuring Space Age Cake available in whole flower and its Hemp'd' pre-roll collection. This resinous hybrid, offers consumers "creamy vanilla, nutty, and ammonia flavors, delivering a potent experience."

Later this spring, Redecan will debut its new Redees Hemp'd Taster Series and additional new flower.

The Redecan Redees Hemp'd Taster Series comes in one convenient 10-pack of pre-rolls, including five pre-rolls of Animal RNTZ, and five pre-rolls of King Sherb – both high-potency THC indicas.

Diversification Strategy

Tilray is also working on boosting its cannabis beverage portfolio given a recent acquisition of Truss Beverage Co. from Molson Coors Beverage Company TAP. The move cemented Tilray's dominant position in the Canadian cannabis beverage market, boosting its market share to approximately 40%.

Tilray chairman and CEO Irwin D. Simon earlier highlighted the importance of the company's diversification strategy. On the heels of acquiring eight beer and beverage brands from Anheuser-Busch this past August, becoming the 5th largest craft beer business in the U.S., Simon reiterated Tilray is "fully committed to invest in and champion the future of the U.S. craft beer industry by fueling innovation that excites and further accelerates the growth of its consumer base.”

Simon has been a keynote speaker at past Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conferences. This spring’s conference in Florida on April 16-17 will also feature several cannabis heavyweights such as Curaleaf's Boris Jordan, Verano's Darren Weiss and a slew of other top CEOs, entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the goal behind a venture into the beer space is capitalization on potential cannabis legalization in the U.S. that would result in creating beer infused with cannabis if/when it becomes legal.

And it's no secret that Simon has long been optimistic about legalization in the U.S. and what he calls his $4 billion aspirational goal. "My aspirations are built on legalization in the United States," he told Benzinga in 2021.

Last, but not the least, there's Tilray's expansion in Europe. Its medical cannabis division, Tilray Medical recently “enthusiastically welcomed” cannabis policy change in Germany, a country where the company has been operating for years.

The Bundestag approved partial cannabis legalization in a final floor vote in February, becoming the third country in Europe to legalize adult-use marijuana after Malta and Luxembourg. The landmark passage of the reform was a significant step forward as it also puts public health in the spotlight while providing patients with easier access to high-quality cannabis medicines produced in the country.

With the European cannabis market being one of the most rapidly expanding markets globally, Tilray's most recent expansion in Portugal comes as no surprise.

TLRY Price Action

Tilray’s shares traded 1.5505% lower at $1.9493 per share at the time of writing on Thursday morning.
