Arkansas Cannabis Sales Skyrocket In Early 2023

In the first two months of 2023, Arkansans purchased a total of 8,832 pounds of medical cannabis worth $45.5 million, reported Fort Smith Times Record.

"Sales for the first two months of 2023 increased by $4 million over the same period in 2022," said Scott Hardin, spokesman for the agency.

State tax collection of medical cannabis for January and February amounted to $5.3 million.

Natural Relief Dispensary in Sherwood was the top-selling shop during the same period, with 884 pounds of medical marijuana sold, followed by Suite 443 in Hot Springs, which sold 856 pounds.

Arkansas legalized cannabis in May 2019 with sales hitting the $175 million mark in the first year and $264.9 million in 2021.
