Cannabis Movers & Shakers: HempFusion Sponsors Race Car Driver Steve Arpini; New Hires At Culta, Aleafia, And Decibel

Here is a summary of the latest leadership changes within the cannabis industry.

HempFusion Is Now A CBD And Probiotics Sponsor of Loenbro Motorsports

Health and wellness CBD company HempFusion Wellness Inc. CBD will sponsor Loenbro Motorsports for the 2021 Racing Season.

Loenbro Motorsports driver Steve Arpini will be behind the wheel of a HempFusion car, set to debut at the Annual DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway near Daytona on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

HempFusion and Probulin will have the primary title position on Arpin’s racecars, fire suit, helmet, as well as a full wrap of the race team hauler.

In addition, the sponsorship deal also includes branding and other medical opportunities.

Arpin is thrilled to team up with HempFusion and Probulin.

“I’ve tried CBD products in the past but being able to finally find USDA Certified Organic tinctures allows me to stay even more aligned with my overall wellness goals,” Arpin said.

The move comes on the heels of HempFusion’s recent expansion to Europe via an agreement with an Ireland-based consumer goods distributor that remained undisclosed.

Allison Siegel Joins Culta As COO

Allison Siegel agreed to join cannabis brand Culta and oversee financial and operational processes as COO.

She brings over two decades of experience to the Bethesda, Maryland-based company. For ten years, she worked at Total Wine & More, and was president at Next Day Blinds.

Siegel said she looks forward to "leveraging my experience in the wine industry."

"Wine, and the alcoholic beverage industry in general, have a lot of similarities to the cannabis industry, especially in regards to intense regulation, taxing, and brand development," she explained.

Siegel's appointment is just the latest in a string of new hires at Culta, including the appointment of Jonathan Lassiter as vice president of sales.

Aleafia Health Names Two New Independent Directors

Aleafia Health Inc. AH ALEAF has deepened its bench by welcoming accountants Lu Galasso and Carlo Sistilli to its board.

Galasso will be appointed to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee, while Sistilli will be tapped to the Audit Committee.

Galasso is a partner with Zzen Group of Companies, and chairs Directors for Titanium Transportation Group’s Board.

Sistilli serves as CFO and member of the Senior Management team of Arista Homes.

Aleafia has been expanding its global footprint and its distribution network. In January, the company opted to supply Europe-based pharmaceutical producer and distributor with dried cannabis flower under the three-year agreement.

Decibel Parts Ways With 3 Directors To Expand Cultivation Capacities

Decibel Cannabis Company Inc. DB DBCCF shook up its board to allow the obtaining of the Health Canada's cultivation permit for its Thunderchild facility.

The company limited the board of directors after parting ways with Benjamin Sze, Dr. Ivan Casselman, and Billy Yellowhead.

The board now includes only members who had previously received Health Canada security clearance.

The facility is operated by B Thunderchild Cultivation LP, Decibel's subsidiary.

"The Thunderchild licensing represents another significant milestone for Decibel and the final step in completing Decibel's current slate of large scale growth projects," Cody Church, the company's Interim CEO, noted Monday.

Over the last year, the company has been focusing on conducting its "strategic plan," Sze earlier commented. According to a recent earnings report, the third quarter's revenue amounted to $7.6 million, up by 29% sequentially.
