iPhone 4 Sales Take Off Before iPhone 5 Release

Apple AAPL in preparation for the iPhone 5 release, deals for previous versions have been cropping up. At AT&T T dropped prices on the iPhone 4S with 16 GB to $199.99, refurbished dropped to $149.99. iPhone 4s 32 GB is $299.99. The 4S 64 GB is $399.99 and $349.99 refurbished.

Verizon’s VZ prices dropped the same in category if bought at the Verizon store or website but if you buy from a third-party retailer the discount skyrockets.

CultofMac’s website said, “You can get a 16GB iPhone 4S on AT&T or Verizon for $100 off Apple’s $200 retail price, and there’s also a $100 discount for the 32Gb iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4 is also being offered for free on both carriers. All discounted models obviously come with a two-year contract.” If you buy from RadioShack RSH.

Sprint S prices are even lower than AT&T and Verizon stores. The 16Gb 4S is $149.99, pre-owned is $99.99. 32GB 4S is $249.99, pre-owned it is $199.99. Finally, the 64GB is $349.99 and pre-owned is $299.99.

Third-party retailers other than RadioShack have roughly the same price for instance Deals2buy.com has the iPhone 4S 16GB for $199, with the networks AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.

Best Buy BBY dropped $50 off the price for an 8GB iPhone 4 for At&T and Verizon, and is now sold at $49.99. Refurbished iPhone 4's with 8GB of memory are now free for both retailers with a two-year contract. Virgin Mobile’s price are the highest of them all! The 16GB 4S is $649.99 according to their website. The iPhone 4 8GB is still $549.99.

The iPhone 5 suspected release is September 12th 2012, less than a month away. Rumors indicate the AT&T is gearing up for the big release along with other technological secrets. Including but not limited to LTE connectivity and eight pin docking.

We can only wait and see for the big unveiling.
