Taylor Swift's new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” drops at midnight ET, Thursday night. The 14-time Grammy winner's highly anticipated album consists of 16 songs, including collaborations with Florence The Machine and Post Malone.

It's Swift's first major project since releasing “Midnights” in October 2022. Swift's popular worldwide Eras Tour catapulted her to billionaire status and she is set to make a lot more money off her latest project.

How Much Will Taylor Make From ‘TPD'? Midnights” generated more than $200 million for Universal Music Group, raising the company's revenue by more than 3% in 2023, according to the Guardian. Through the Eras tour, Swift's popularity and exposure have increased since that 2022 album, so this release could generate even more revenue.

Swift's “1989 (Taylor's Version),” a remake of her 2014 album, was released in October 2023, a year after “Midnights” and did more sales in its first week despite it being a remake of an older album. If the stats are any indication, it shows “The Tortured Poets Department” could surpass the sales number of “Midnight.”

While exact details of Swift's deal with Universal aren't disclosed, artists typically receive around 10% of album sales.

But artists of Swift's magnitude and influence are often able to negotiate for more favorable deals.

Using the conservative assumption of 10%, Swift made more than $23 million from her “Midnights” album. And that's just album sales, Swift will also bring in millions of dollars from streaming platforms such as Apple Inc's AAPL Apple Music and Spotify Technology SA SPOT.

In 2023 alone, Swift brought in more than $100 million from Spotify, according to Variety. That includes her entire discography and not just one single album.

So, depending on the reception of her newest project, it's hard to gauge an exact number of how much Swift will make from it, but it's safe to assume it will be in the $50-$100 million range. Not to mention, the new music will give Swift more songs to perform if she decides to extend her Eras Tour.
