'No Takesies Backsies:' MrBeast Asks Elon Musk If Twitter's 'X' Transition Is A Dealbreaker?

YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has questioned tech mogul Elon Musk about the potential ramifications of Twitter’s rebranding to ‘X’ on his prior “agreement.”

What Happened: Last year in May, MrBeast asked Musk whether he could have Twitter in the event of his demise under “mysterious circumstances.” At the time, the tech billionaire responded with a simple one-word reply, promising to bestow the microblogging site upon the YouTuber should he meet an untimely death.

The Tesla chief acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.

On Thursday, Donaldson asked Musk if Twitter’s rebranding as “X” would nullify their agreement.

It is pertinent to note that there was a lot of talk about why Musk tweeted about being found dead in a mysterious way. One possible reason could be his disagreement with the Russian military after SpaceX gave free Starlink satellite services to Ukrainians

Why It’s Important: In April earlier this year, Donaldson announced that Musk had started paying him $5 a month as a subscriber on X. For the unversed, “Super Follows” on Twitter was rebranded to “Subscriptions,” allowing users the ability to monetize themselves through upgrades for their followers.

Earlier this week, MrBeast shattered the 24-hour view record for a non-music video with his new vlog named “7 Days Stranded at Sea.” The video garnered 46 million views in just 23 hours.

The renowned YouTuber currently has 174 million subscribers on YouTube.
