Shares of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts KKD were trading down more than 1 percent on Tuesday’s after-hours session, following the announcement of the company’s third quarter (fiscal 2016) financial results. The small cap doughnut maker delivered earnings of $0.19 per share, above the Street’s consensus of $0.17 per share, on revenue of $128.54 million, which fell short of expectations for sales of $132.77 million.
Also down on its earnings call was Smith & Wesson Holding Corp SWHC, which lost more than 1 percent since the bell rang. However, the small cap firearms manufacturer delivered earnings of $0.25 per share on revenue of $143.24 million, considerably above the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.20 per share and $137.9 million.
Back to gainers, there’s AeroVironment, Inc. AVAV, which gained more than 8 percent since the market closed, after reporting its second quarter –fiscal 2016- financial results. The small cap aerospace and defense company retrieved earnings of $0.19 per share on sales of $64.73 million, well above the Street’s expectations, which called for a net loss of ($0.09) per share on revenue of $55.91 million.

- TransAlta Corporation (USA) TAC, up almost 8 percent
