• Cowen out positive following Amgen Inc AMGN earnings, calling it one of the better financial reports for the co. in some time; Says the stock is inexpensive and could benefit from significant multiple expansion.
• Buckingham says JetBlue Airways Corp JBLU would be a great longer-term story for investors with a 1-3 year horizon, says key stock driver will be if management can execute on goal for CASM ex fuel to be flat to up 1 percent 2018-2020.
• Morgan Stanley on the Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN-General Motors Co GM partnership says they've long highlighted the opportunity for auto co.'s to tap into logistics end-market as a vast, lucrative opportunity; calls the partnership is a natural fit.
• Wells Fargo raises Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corp WAB price target from $90 to $100 as they believe the company is poised to benefit from improved transit margins, international expansion, solid operation acuity and disciplined M&A.
• Baird says buybacks are a much needed catalyst at this point for Caterpillar Inc CAT, says recent conf. call didn't provide any insight into pace or amount that the company would deploy, but thinks at least $5 billion could be feasible.
• Stifel upgrades Rush Enterprises, Inc. Class A RUSHA from Hold to Buy and raises price target from $45 to $50; says co. is weighted more toward smaller fleets, vocational customers, parts and services and is shielded from peaking truck cycle.
• Stifel upgrades Alphabet Inc GOOG from Hold to Buy, says company has "more serious approach" to the security and privacy of consumers, says products have more “proven durability and utility" than Facebook.
