Market Overview Executive Editor: 'I Don't Know How Much Of A Threat Chevrolet Bolt Will Be To Tesla Model 3'

After General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) revealed its Chevrolet Bolt concept car at the North American International Auto Show, Executive Editor Joe Wiesenfelder told Benzinga he didn’t know how much of a threat it would be to the Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model S.

The Bolt will have a range of 200 miles on a single charge and cost about $30,000.

“It really depends on what the Tesla Model 3 ends up being and what the Chevy Bolt ends up being, in regards to pricing, interior quality, range and such,” Wiesenfelder said.

He also mentioned that 200 miles might just be the “up to” number for the Bolt’s range, which he explained means it would be the best-case scenario.

Tesla shares ended the day at $202.21, a 2.15 percent decrease, while General Motors closed 0.7 percent higher at $35.84.
