Twitter Inc TWTR shares are trading lower by $0.39 (2.6 percent) at $14.93 in Wednesday's session.
Concerns about the security of its platform have surfaced once again. Several accounts ranging from media sources to celebrities were hacked overnight and included messages in Turkish along with the Turkish flag. The tweets backed the president of Turkey in its political battle with Germany.
Jason Calacanis also said Twitter is "the worst tech stock to own."
After a lower open, Twitter's stock couldn't reclaim Tuesday's closing price of $15.32, only reaching $15.30, before continuing its move lower. So far, the ensuing decline has breached the former low of the move ($14.94) as $14.86 stands as the current low for the session as of 1:30 p.m. ET.
Twitter is attempting to avoid its first close under $15.00 since June 13, when it ended that session at $14.55.
