Kansas City Southern Craters After Ford Announcement

Kansas City Southern KSU shares are trading lower by $2.25 at $82.60 in Tuesday's session. The issue went into a free fall when Ford Motor Company F announced it will be shifting a production plant from Mexico to the United States.

Other rail names had been falling to session lows prior to the Ford announcement at 11 a.m. ET.

After a higher open, it immediately peaked at $85.64 and began to move lower. The issue, which had been trading at the $84 area, declined all the way to $81.91 22 minutes after the announcement was made. That marks the lowest level for the issue since it bottomed on November 11 at $80.24. At this time, the issue is approaching its highest level since making the low at $82.67 as of 11:52 a.m. ET.
