S&P 500 index futures are trading lower by 14 points at 2067.50 in Thursday's session. The index has been volatile in response to comments from the ECB regarding changes in interest rates.
Off the open, the index peaked three points above Wednesday's close (2081.50) at 2084.50 and began to move lower. The index is now approaching its November 24 low of 2065.50.
Only two of the top 10 components are in the green. Leading the way on the upside is Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN shares which are trading higher by $1.78 at $677.79. The biggest loser is Exxon Mobil Corporation XOM, which are weak for the second day in and are lower by $0.70 at $78.85.
