Shares of China Finance Online (NASDAQ: JRJC), the China-based provider of vertically integrated financial information and services including news, data, analytics, securities investment advisory and brokerage-related services, rose 9% Friday on 3.5 times average volume.
China Finance Online announced Thursday, its unaudited financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2012. Net revenues were $7.2 million compared with $13.5 million for the third quarter of 2011 due to the Company's strategic transition amid a challenging business environment.
Gross profit was $5.5 million compared with $11.2 million for the third quarter of 2011. Net loss attributable to China Finance Online was $3.2 million.
China Finance Online closed at $1.25 on Friday.
China Green Agriculture
Shares of China Green Agriculture (NYSE: CGA), the China-based producer and distributor of humic acid-based compound fertilizers, other varieties of compound fertilizers and agricultural products through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, rose 9% Friday on 3 times average volume.
China Green Agriculture announced Thursday that the Company has been included in Forbes Asia's list of 200 Best Under A Billion for the year 2012.
"We are honored that Forbes Asia has recognized us as one of Asia's '200 Best under a Billion' companies," stated Mr. Tao Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. "We believe this accolade reflects our substantial business achievements and potential growth capability in the fertilizer industry. China Green Agriculture closed at $3.51 on Friday.
Shares of Gravity (NASDAQ: GRVY), the Korea-based developer of online games in Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Russian Federation, rose 8% Friday on 5 times average volume.
Gravity was mentioned in a Seeking Alpha article Sunday as a top pick for 2013.
Gravity closed at $1.31 on Friday.
