The Henry Hill ETF Portfolio

Henry Hill, the mobster who became a household name thanks to Martin Scorsese's gangster classic "Goodfellas," has passed away at the age of 69. The cause of death
is still unknown
. Hill, portrayed by Ray Liotta in "Goodfellas," was a member of the Lucchese crime family before becoming an FBI informant. His ascent within the Lucchese organization was limited because, as is noted in "Goodfellas," Hill was not 100% Italian. His father was of Irish heritage and his mother was of Italian descent. Now that Hill has moved onto a better place, presumably, it might time to have a look at some ETFs he would have considered investing in.
Guggenheim Airline ETF FAA
One of the crown jewels of Hill's career in organized crime was the 1978 Lufthansa heist at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, one of the most expensive robberies in U.S. history. The Guggenheim Airline ETF earns a place in the Henry Hill ETF Portfolio because German airline giant Lufthansa accounts for 4.4% of the ETF's weight.
Global X FTSE Colombia 20 ETF GXG
As if robbery, extortion and his other misdeeds were not bad enough, Hill would eventually find his way into the highly lucrative, but nefarious drug trade. For Hill, that include the consumption and sale of cocaine, a product that many believe is Colombia's second leading export next to coffee. These days, Colombia has a viable,
more legitimate economic story to tell
that includes a free trade agreement with the U.S. as well as being just one of five countries in the world that is increasing oil production. Colombia is South America's third-largest oil producer after Venezuela and Brazil.
Market Vectors Gaming ETF BJK
Rare is the mobster that does not have some exposure to gambling, either legal or illegal. After all, Las Vegas was just another city in the desert before organized crime turned it into the U.S. gambling mecca. Organized crime's current influence over legal gambling in this country is something best left for legal experts and historians to comment on. Regarding Hill, his dalliances with gambling included being part of a college basketball points-shaving operation in the late 1970s.

EWI
on this list is too easy. Not to mention,
EWI has enough problems to contend with in the current environment
. As was noted earlier, Hill's father was Irish-American, so EIRL, the lone Ireland-specific ETF, earns place on the list. Year-to-date, EIRL is up almost 6% compared to an almost 15% loss for EWI. In the past 90 days, EIRL is off almost 12% while EWI is down nearly 25%. In Italy's defense, it is the only PIIGS member to not yet receive some form of bailout assistance.
